Children’s Book Week (Nov. 3-9)

Children’s Book Week is part of the longest-running national celebration of books for young people and the joy of reading. Schools, libraries, and bookstores celebrate November 3-9 with special events, literacy promotion, and tips to get kids curious about reading.

As a former librarian, nothing was better than a child’s wide eyes or enthusiasm when they discovered the magic of books. One of my favorite children’s books is Make Way for Ducklings by Robert McCloskey. A delightful illustrated book, it is a brilliant classic that teaches the importance of kindness, perseverance, and familial love.
